This is a great opportunity for everyone in the neighborhood, of all ages, to meet your neighbors, help maintain our beloved park, and support the Friends of Lafayette Park.
This fall our focus will be on weeding and pruning of the perimeter gardens. Over the years I'm sure you have marveled at the beautiful hillside gardens that surround our park on Broad Branch, Quesada and 33rd - our one of our greatest neighborhood treasures. Even if you don't actively use the park and only drive by, you can enjoy the seasonal delights of these gardens.
You have probably also seen the members of the Friends of Lafayette Park Garden Group who volunteer countless hours to plant and maintain these wonderful gardens. At this Fall's Clean-up we want to support this great effort by assisting our volunteer gardeners in getting the gardens ready for their winter hybernation and spring explosion. Let's show them how much we appreciate their work and really have a great turnout.
