Playgrounds
Lafayette Park has wonderful playgrounds for children. Pre-teens of all ages can easily find something fun to climb on, swing on and jump on.
Toddler Playground
A separate tot lot, on the 33rd Street side of the park, is dedicated to very young children. The playground equipment is smaller, just the size for tots, including a fun, red fire engine to climb on. An attractive iron fence keeps the young children inside the play area so they can’t scoot off when your back is turned. Benches in the shade welcome those who are watching the children.
Main Playground
A second playground at the top of the hill near the middle of the park has play equipment for older children. Here they can climb, swing and jump til they run out of steam. A jungle gym, swing, climbing platforms and other equipment give the children a variety of things to play on.

Daisy Fountain
The Water Daisy is one of the highlights of the Lafayette Park playgrounds. Used in the summer, it sprays water as children run through the falling water to cool off. Nothing like playing in the water on a hot day.

Next to Lafayette Elementary School are two additional playground areas – one behind the school and one on the left side. Both have a variety of climbing bars, slides and other equipment for children to play on.
